Dammann Freres Tea is steeped in history and embodies the ancient art of tea making with its various bold and beautiful infusions. Available through Sauce Fine Foods, Dammann Freres Tea is considered to be some of the finest tea in the world.
In 1692 in Louis XIV granted Mr Dammann the prestigious privilege of selling tea throughout France. That day was the birth of Dammann Freres tea and since that day it has pioneered its way to become one of the finest producers of tea in the world. With robust and finely balanced flavours in every cup, Dammann Freres have developed their own Cristal tea bag which is silky and transparent enhancing the flavour of the tea.
Dammann Freres vast knowledge and expertise gained them the honour of being named the official supplier of the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique, otherwise known as the French Line which is the celebrated trans-Atlantic fleet of French ocean liners and freighters.
Two great examples of Dammann Freres black tea are firstly Gout Russe, a recipe that incorporates a special blend of Chinese teas combined with an infusion of citrus fruit essential oils. This gives it an attractive character and a taste to match. Then similarly the Jardin Bleu, this combines Chinese unsmoked tea with rhubarb and wild strawberry flavours. A green tea from Dammann which is particularly good is L’Oriental. This is also blended with passion fruit, peach and wild strawberry, a fabulously fruity tea.
